Peewee BB, 2019-2020, Travel (Cambridge roadrunners Girls' Hockey Association)

The roadrunners Peewee BB finished off their playdown round robin play this past Sunday.  The girls played two games against each Brantford and Waterloo.  The worked hard, played as a team, and managed to secure themselves a spot at the OWHA Provincial Championship weekend!  The coaching staff is so proud of the girls for pushing through some hard games to earn themselves the chance to compete for a Provincial medal. Congrats Girls!  

The roadrunners Peewee BB spent the weekend at the Orangeville Tigers Sweetheart tournament.  The girls won one out of their three round robin games, finishing 4th in their pool.  They dug deep and battled back, overcoming sickness and injuries, to win their quarter final game against Mississauga by 5 goals!  Although they played an excellent game, they lost the semifinal game to a very strong Stoney Creek team.  They went on to play the Clearview IceCats for the bronze and came up on top, winning 2-1. Congrats to the girls on a well earned bronze medal!

The roadrunners Peewee BB team traveled down to the states this past weekend to participate in the Pittsburgh Thanksgiving Classic.  The girls came out strong winning all three of their round robin games. The quarter finals were a bit harder, but they ended winning in a shootout to make it to the semi finals on Sunday morning.  Another hard fought win in the semi final game secured them a spot in the championship game Sunday afternoon.  The girls played a great game and fought hard against a very strong team from Detroit and ended with a well deserved silver medal. The roadrunners Peewee BB team spent the weekend at the Ancaster Fall Shootout Tournament.  After a loss on Friday morning, they went on to win their next 3 games in round robin play,  to make it to the championship game against the Haldimand Rivercats on Sunday morning.  The girls played their best game ever against a very determined Rivercats team.  In the end a single goal in the 2nd period clinched us the Gold with a final score of 1 - 0.  Congrats to the girls on a great tournament.
