Parent Update
Parents:

Now that I've had a chance to get my bearings a little I wanted to give an approximate timeline of the next couple of weeks so that families are prepared and arrangements can be made.

Thanks once again for your patience and understanding as I transition into the role.

Schedule:

Today (Wednesday) - there is a scheduled Tryout/Practice @5 pm (SportsPark). All girls remaining on the roster are welcome/expected to attend unless alternative arrangements have been discussed. I am trying to give all girls a fair opportunity to demonstrate their enthusiasm, effort and skill level before making final roster decisions. After today I - along with my independent evaluators - will have had the opportunity to see all girls on multiple occasions and make a fair assessment.

Today (Wednesday) - There will be a series of releases made later this evening.

Friday - Game scheduled against Guelph @6pm (Galt Arena). Roster for this game will be posted on Thursday so that those scheduled to play will have every opportunity to make arrangements to attend the game. Arrival 1 hour before is expected for preparation and warm up.

Friday - Following the game there will be a final series of releases and the official roster will be set.

Saturday - Game scheduled against Haldimand @4pm (Hespeler Arena). This will be our first game as an established team as well as our first game against a non 'A' club.

Saturday - Immediately following the game there will be a mandatory parent meeting for all families. Players are welcome (and encouraged!) to attend as we will be discussing plans for the upcoming season and looking for family input.

Friday (May 10) - Game scheduled against Ayr @5:30pm (NDCC Arena in Ayr). Given that this game is scheduled to occur so early in the day, players will be asked to arrive no later than 5:00pm so as to allow parents ample time to finish their work day.

We are also looking at one or two more exhibition games in the coming weeks - but I will update everyone once that gets flushed out a bit more.

I'm VERY excited for the upcoming season and blown away by the level of skill and dedication ALL your daughters have demonstrated. I've also enjoyed the opportunity to meet some of the families, and look forward to meeting the rest and getting to know everyone better so that we can have a fun and successful year both on AND off the ice!

See you all tonight!
