On
Saturday January 13th, the girls from the Peewee A team volunteered at the
Cambridge Self Help Food Bank, where they sorted over 5,000 pounds of food and
learned how far reaching the food bank programs are to the community. To give some perspective, the 5,000 pounds of food will be dispersed throughout Cambridge and North Dumfries within the week.
We challenged each girl to donate ten pounds of food with a team target of 170 pounds. We are proud that the girls smashed their target and donated a total of 380 pounds! Amazing job, ladies!

To further educate the girls about food and nutrition, they spent the afternoon in a cooking class with Wholesome Measures. The girls learned about proper food preparation and healthy eating choices. The girls prepared and shared a delicious meal together.

Overall, it was a successful day of education and volunteering together as a team.
Congratulations, girls!
