Atom Teal Finish 1st with a 10-0 record!!
The Cambridge Atom Teal Roadrunners finished their regular season with a perfect record of 10-0 and the number one spot in the Division!!

On Dec 9th the Roadrunners travelled to Ingersoll to battle with the West Oxford Inferno's.  The Roadrunners played a very strong game and limited the Inferno's chances.  Cecilia(23), Lorelai(6) and Hailee(6) were the goal scorers with assists going to Carissa, Nora and Sydney.  Final score was 4-0 and Keira recorded her 3rd shut out!!

The Roadrunners had 2 games left to play on the final weekend of the regular season.  On Saturday Dec 16th the girls played the Woolwich Wild at the Cambridge Ice Centre. The forwards of the Roadruners took plenty of shots but the strong checking of the wild kept them from putting one in the net.  It would be the Defense of the Roadrunners jumping into the rush that would help the girls this day.  Lorelai(8) scored a pair and both Sophie(1) and Sydney(4) would put one in as well.  Another 4-0 win and Keira would have her 4th Shut Out of the Season.  Great Job Girls!!

The last game of the regular season would see the Roadrunners (9-0) against Kitchener Red (9-0)!!  The two top teams would square off in a epic battle for first place in the Division.  The game came with a lot of pressure but the girls knew that if they worked hard and did their best the coaches would be very proud of them.  So the Roadrunners did just that, and played their best on every shift for every minute on the ice.  The first period would be scoreless as both teams had chances but both goalies were playing amazingly well.  In the 2nd period it would be the Roadrunners to strike first- Cecilia(24) assisted by Lorelai.  Then 3 minutes later Lorelai(9) assisted by Hailee would put the girls up by 2.  Early in the third period the girls struck again, Cecilia(25) assisted by Caitlin.  Then the Roadrunners scored 2 more quick goals Lorelai(10) and Sydney(4) to make it 5-0.  With one of the Roadrunners in the Penalty Box the Kitchener girls made them pay and scored a goal with 44 seconds left in the game.  Then with one second left in the game, Kitchener struck again but it was too little, too late.   The girls won 5-2 to take first place and remain the only undefeated team in the Atom Division.

I just want to say thatthe Coaching staff and I are so proud of these girls and the effort they put into every game.  They never give up and they never quit!  I look forward to an amazing 2nd half of the season.  Great effort Girls!!   GO Roadrunners!!
