Waterloo Ravens Fall Challenge Cup
This past weekend, the Roadrunners Atom B team were in Waterloo for the Challenge Cup Tournament. In round robin play, the team posted 4 consecutive victories defeating Aurora, Kensington, Clarington and Scarborough. The wins qualified the Roadrunners for a semi-final matchup against Wilmot.

The two evenly matched teams mirrored each other with a defense first approach but yet playing fast paced. Both teams seemed content to wait for other teams mistakes. The Roadrunners had their chances but were unable to capitalize. Wilmot took advantage of their opportunities and scored both their goals in the second half of the game to win 2-0 and eventually went on to win the championship.

The Roadrunners have played in 3 tournaments this fall advancing to at least the playoff-preliminary round in each tournament. This young team has an overall record of 16 wins, 8 losses, 3 ties and continues to learn, develop and grow.

Up next are two practices this week under the tutelage and mentorship of the Cambridge Rivulettes.

In keeping with their community commitments, this coming Saturday the girls will be volunteering their time to senior citizens at the Chartwell Retirement Home.

Keep up the good work girls,
Coach Fred
