Tournament change(s), News (Cambridge roadrunners Girls' Hockey Association)

Good afternoon roadrunner families,

Please be advised of the following proposed BY-LAWS change concerning the Cambridge roadrunners Girls' Hockey Tournament.




Currently the BY-LAW reads as;

6.3.1 All Cambridge roadrunner Teams must participate in the Cambridge roadrunners Girls' Hockey Tournament in their division is available. The Tournament Registration Fee will be determined by the Board of Directors and based on the team's Parent Volunteer Hours fulfillment for the tournament.

Proposed changes;

6.3 TOURNAMENTS

6.3.1 All Cambridge roadrunner teams must participate in the Cambridge roadrunners Girls' Hockey Tournament (New Years Challenge) if their division is available. The cost of the Cambridge roadrunners Girls' Hockey Tournament is not covered for Local League teams through their registration fees. Individual teams are responsible for their tournament fees through fundraising, sponsorship or payment.

Registration for Travel teams are the responsibility of the Team(s) and shall be approved during the initial parent meetings. The cost for the Cambridge roadrunners Girls' Hockey Tournament must be included in the team budget(s) and covered by travel team fees.

The Cambridge roadrunners Girls’ Hockey Tournament will be offered to Cambridge roadrunners teams at a reduced registration fee.

This change will remove the requirements for team officials and parents to volunteer one hour per registered player in order to offset the cost of the teams registration fee. The additional registration fee's will be used to hire and outsource administration and operational requirements to ensure the tournament is run professionally and seamlessly.

This proposed changed was passed at the CrGHA Board of Directors level on Monday February 13th. However, the change(s) will need to be passed at the AGM in May to be ratified.
