2022-2023 Travel - U11 AA - U11 AA Wins Silver at the Waterloo Fall Challenge Cup!
Submitted By Jason Knickle on Sun 11 06, 22
The U11 AA team has started their hardware run with a silver medal in the 21st Annual Waterloo Fall Challenge Cup!

A slow start saw the team finish Friday with a tie (Waterloo) and a loss (Toronto Leaside). However, a group commitment to hard work and playing roadrunner hockey resulted in an unbeaten Saturday with wins over Stoney Creek and London to advance to the semi-finals.

The semi-finals were a nail biter as the team edged out a very competitive Clarington Flames team in a shootout. After ending both regulation and overtime with a scoreless game, the team was propelled to the finals with two goals in the shootout and masterful goaltending by tournament MVP Bella Fonseca.

Having only 90 mins between games, a tired group entered their sixth game of the tournament against an undefeated Toronto Leaside team. Despite a high compete level fatigue settled in and the team lost a hard fought battle to claim a well deserved silver medal in the tournament.

A huge congratulations to the team on a well earned and deserved medal!
