COVID-19 UPDATE
Premier Ford announced yesterday that Waterloo Region will be moving into the Red (Control) category under the new COVID-19 classification framework. We do not know how long we will be in this category; however, we expect it to be at least 28 days (2 COVID-19 cycles of 14 days). This category and the new restrictions bring changes on how we are able to provide our programs. The key changes are:
-Limit of 10 people on the ice (this number includes coaches and players);
-No scrimmages or games
We are still able to run development sessions, however with these new restrictions, we have to modify some of our programs.
Effective Monday, November 23rd, the following changes will take place:
- Hockey Prep - Unfortunately, we are not able to safely run this program during the Red-Control period. We have decided it best to postpone the program until the new year. Details of the start date in January will be communicated as soon as we are able;
- Travel and House League (with the exception of U18/U22 House League) will continue to run development sessions. Coaches will receive further information regarding programming.
- Our Ice Scheduler is working closely with the City of Cambridge and Cambridge Sports Park. As soon as information becomes available about new protocols, we will send it out to the membership.
We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we try to navigate through this Pandemic. We would also like to thank all of our volunteers as they continue to volunteer their time through these uncertain times.
Please continue to wash your hands, wear masks and stay home if you are not feeling well. We are all in this together.
Stay safe everyone.
