The Midget AA team has wrapped up the first month of their season.
September saw the young, fast skating team play in its first tournament
and series of exhibition games.
The team opened the exhibition series with a win over the
defending national midget champions, Brantford Icecats and concluded
the series with a tie against perennial powerhouse Saugeen Maitland
Lightning. Their overall record for the month was 4 wins, 4 losses and a tie.
Their leadership team was chosen for the year.
"Aitch" was selected as team captain and she will be
assisted by Emma, Sammi and "Woolly".
Former NCAA Div. 1 player, Leah Whitaker, has been added to
the coaching staff. Leah recently retired from playing
women's professional hockey and the former defensive stalwart
looks forward to sharing her knowledge, experience and
expertise with the team.
Roadrunners open their regular season at home on Saturday, October
1 against the Chatham Outlaws.
