Atom A's with Back2Back medals in January!!!
As January 2016 came to a close...

The Atom A's  finished 4th in LLFHL regular season play, Won Bronze in the Cambridge and Gold in the Orangeville Tournaments, sharing a picture with the Silver medal winning Brampton Canadettes who played a strong game, with great spirit and excellent sportsmanship.

The Roadrunners Atom 'A' team won the Bronze medal game 5-1 over the Barrie Sharks at the 22nd annual Roadrunner tournament this weekend. In round robin action, the team finished with a record of 1 win, 1 loss and 1 tie surrendering only 1 goal in three preliminary games.

The team has concluded their regular season play where they placed forth and meet the West Huron Wave as their first round playoff opponent. As the team enters the playoff stretch they have accomplished most of their predetermined five month goals and objectives and are preparing for the playoff grind.

This past weekend saw the Atom A squad head to the Orangeville Tigers Sweetheart Tournament where they went undefeated in 4 games, scoring 10 goals and only surrendering 1 goal against. Generally penalty free, with swift skating and a rabid passion for puck possession these young Foxes competed tenaciously in every game. Overcoming some adversity against a team that didn't respect the game and other players in pool play staying out of the box even when provoked, they took the puck instead showing their grit on the important game sheet column.

Sunday morning brought the 2nd place Brampton Canadettes into the gold medal matchup, bringing a team with grit, determination along with endless effort and sportsmanship to test the Atom a girls. The Atom A's rose to the challenge to come out ahead 2-1 on the score clock to bring home the gold.

After the medal presentations the roadrunners invited the Canadettes for a two team sportsmanship photo of the gold medal tilt.

These young ladies, wise beyond their years cut team dressing room chatter after the game short, to head over to the other ice pad to watch and cheer on their Atom B counterparts win Bronze.

Congratulations on your Bronze & Gold medals ladies,
Coach Fred.
