The Atom A girls competed in the GGHA tournament this past weekend, starting out a bit rocky in the first game with a loss. These young ladies were challenged by Coach Fred to overcome the disappointing first game loss and they roared back with 3 straight wins to make it to the gold medal game.
These character players went into 5min 4on4 OT tied 1-1, then onto 5min 3on3 OT still tied 1-1. Allowing a goal late in the 2nd OT frame to take Silver. Grit, Heart and Determination by this fantastic group of friends called "team" kept their heads high congratulating Kitchener on a hard fought game for their gold medals.
These girls are a true tournament team, playing for Gold in 3 of the 4 tournaments they have competed in this year, capturing it once in 3 thrilling games.
