Comeback Kids!!
Playing a game in Waterloo at 7:30am this morning after Halloween last night the coaching staff didn't know what to expect!!
Once the girls took the ice however they came out flying and dominated most of the play. Facing the toughest goalie we have seen so far we couldn't buy a goal as she was playing great. Then we had two penalites (second one very questionable..lol) so found ourselves defending a 5 on 3. Ravens scored twice to give them the 2-0 lead.
What I like most about our girls is there is no quit in this group. With 3:37 left in the third period Briere scored with Ryelee getting the assist to get us on the board. 32 seconds later Taylor with a nice feed from Victoria blasted a shot past the goalie to tie it up with just over 3 minutes remaining!! Ended in the 2-2 tie but it felt like a win to the girls! Great job ladies :)
POG Hat went to Rebecca today for a couple important defensive plays including a potential "game saver" with her and Cadence saving a breakaway with 49 seconds left!!
Win, lose, or draw the coaching staff is happy with the effort by this team early in the season. Keep up the hard work ladies. I'm even gonna put the clocks back an hour tonight so you can get an extra hour of sleep with us practing at 7:15am tomorrow morning!! lol
Great job today ladies and we'll see ya at practice tomorrow!!
